Description: BT’S classic British red phone box rings up 80 years
Giant images of BT’s much-loved classic red K6 telephone box were projected onto the BT headquarters near St Pauls in London yesterday evening (5 October) to celebrate the design icon’s 80th birthday.

The K6 was designed by renowned architect Sir Giles Gilbert Scott also responsible for Battersea Power Station, Bankside Power Station (now home to Tate Modern), Liverpool’s Anglican Cathedral and Waterloo Bridge.

BT is providing for sale a limited number of refurbished examples of traditional phone boxes including some specially painted in a Union Jack design.
